AFP® CORPORATE CASH INDICATORS
During the fourth quarter of 2021, business leaders continued to build cash and short-term investment holdings but at a slower rate than the previous quarter. The quarter-over-quarter index decreased four points to +17, and the year-over-year indicator increased by four points to +25. The forward-looking indicator decreased 16 points from last quarter’s reading of +18 to +2. Organizations planning to decrease cash balances during the current quarter are doing so primarily to grow their business.
